Thirsk Museum
Thirsk Museum is open again for the summer season. Come see the original Bull Ring from Thirsk Market Place (pictured) and the display of cricket memorabilia in honour of Thomas Lord of Lords cricket ground, who was born in this house.
There are also displays of the local history of Thirsk and District.
The museum is at 14 - 16 Kirkgate Thirsk YO7 1PQ, nearly opposite the Zillah Bell Gallery, and is open from 10.30am to 3.30 pm, last admission 3.00 pm (closed Wednesday afternoons and Sundays).

Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden
Discover Thirsk’s secret garden nestled behind the Grade II* listed Thirsk Hall. Explore the 20 acres of garden and parkland, now the home to Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden and indoor gallery spaces. It is a welcoming space to be inspired, to be creative and to enjoy with friends and family.
The Garden is currently closed until Wed 1 May for installation of a new outdoor exhibition. It will also be closed Sat 21 Sep and Gallery One will close Wed 16 Oct to Tue 22 Oct.
The Sculpture Garden is accessed through the gate adjacent to Thirsk Hall, on the right of the building. Entrance is £6.50, Child (0-15) free, Concession (60+ or student) £5.50. Book in advance online or just come (50p extra at the gate).
The hours are Wed to Sat 11am-5pm (last entry 4pm).

Rail disruption Leeds-Manchester
There will be four weeks of disruption to weekday services in West Yorkshire.
The work is being carried out as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade, a multi-billion pound programme to improve the route between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York.
Only weekday services are affected, from Mon 22 Apr until Fri 17 May.
In particular weekday trains between Northallerton/ Thirsk/ York and Manchester airport will be replaced by buses for part of the journey.

Bank Holiday Fun Day
On Bank Holiday Monday 6 May there will be traditional Maypole Dancing and family fun with live music, games, bouncy castles and bucking bronco at Burtree Country House, just off the A19 between Thirsk and Easingwold.
The £5 per person includes a complimentary free punch (alcoholic for the adults). Refreshments will be available in the licensed Folly bar.
